The first thing you need to understand in the college football recruiting world is the limited amount of time college football coaches have to actually spend recruiting and evaluating prospects. It is impossible for them to recruit everyone. Here’s how it works: there are nine position coaches and a head coach at the D-1A level. There are four graduate assistants and usually two analysts. These numbers, in terms of full-time personnel, usually decrease further down the division chain. At the lower levels of college football, these schools don’t have the necessary budget to operate as efficiently as D-1A schools.
